What Working With ayothayaxad Actually Means
The difference is not found in credentials alone — it is in how a practice treats the people inside each case.

Six qualities that shape every engagement at ayothayaxad.
Cross-Border Fluency
International marriage registration is a process we have navigated with clients from over 38 nationalities. We understand what different embassies require and how to coordinate across systems.
Thai Law Depth
Our practice is built exclusively around Thai family and civil law — not adapted from a general commercial practice. The Civil and Commercial Code provisions we apply daily are ones we know in detail.
Fixed, Stated Fees
Fees are stated in advance: ฿8,500 for marriage registration assistance, ฿4,200 for uncontested divorce documentation, ฿29,800 for contested divorce representation. No additions that were not agreed.
Confidentiality as Standard
We treat the personal details of each matter as strictly private. Our professional obligations under the Lawyers Council require it — and our personal approach goes further.
Plain-Language Explanation
Every document we prepare is reviewed together with clients before signing. We do not expect people to commit to legal language they have not been given time to understand.
Measured Pace
We do not pressure clients to move faster than their circumstances allow. Where proceedings have their own timeline, we communicate openly about what to expect and why.
Expertise Grounded in Practice
ayothayaxad has operated for over fourteen years with a consistent focus on marriage and divorce law. That means our understanding of the Family Court system, district office registration procedures, and embassy requirements is not theoretical — it comes from handling these matters continuously and adjusting our approach as procedures change.
- Qualified practitioners with Thai Bar membership
- 600+ completed matters across all three practice areas
- Ongoing participation in Lawyers Council CPD programmes
- Direct knowledge of Bangkok Family and Juvenile Court procedure
A practice that works only in its chosen area tends to know that area well. We do not take on unrelated commercial or criminal matters — family law in Thailand is what we do.
Many clients come to us having spoken with other lawyers who used technical language without explanation. We have made plain-language communication a deliberate part of how we work.
Communication That Serves the Client
We confirm in writing what service we are providing and at what cost, before any work begins. During the engagement, we keep clients informed about progress, waiting periods, and what they need to prepare. Documents are explained before signing — not handed over and assumed to be understood.
- Written engagement confirmation with stated fees
- Document review sessions before signature
- Regular updates on waiting periods and next steps
- Remote consultation available by phone or video
Stated Pricing, No Additions
Legal fees in Thailand are not always clearly communicated in advance. ayothayaxad operates differently. We state our service fee at the outset, and we discuss separately any third-party costs — such as certified translation charges and court filing fees — so clients have a complete picture before committing to anything.
- ฿8,500 — International marriage registration assistance
- ฿4,200 — Uncontested divorce documentation
- ฿29,800 — Contested divorce representation
- Third-party costs identified and agreed separately
The services we provide carry costs that are reasonable for the level of legal preparation and coordination involved. We do not add charges that arise without prior discussion.
How Our Approach Differs
A straightforward comparison of what clients frequently tell us they have experienced elsewhere, versus how we work.
| Practice Area | Common Experience | ayothayaxad Approach |
|---|---|---|
| Fee disclosure | Fees discussed after engagement begins, or not until invoiced | Written fee statement before any work begins |
| Document review | Documents provided for signature without walkthrough | Each document reviewed together before signing |
| Timeline communication | Vague or optimistic timeframe estimates | Honest, realistic estimates with written updates |
| International coordination | Client left to contact embassies and translation services independently | Full coordination handled on client's behalf |
| Practice focus | Family law as one of many areas in a general practice | Exclusively family law — marriage and divorce only |
| Remote consultation | In-person meeting required before any advice | Initial consultation by phone or video available |
What Sets ayothayaxad Apart
Features of our service that are not standard practice across family law firms in Thailand.
38-Nationality Experience
We have assisted clients from over 38 countries, building practical knowledge of the different documentary requirements, embassy procedures, and home-country legal considerations that arise in cross-border family matters.
Remote-First Initial Process
Clients do not need to be in Bangkok to begin working with us. We can hold initial consultations by video call, review documents electronically, and prepare a full process plan before any in-person appointment is scheduled.
Bilingual Documentation
All documentation we prepare is reviewed in both Thai and English. We do not rely on client-provided translations for legal purposes, and we explain technical terms in each language before any signature is given.
Managed Caseload
We do not operate on a high-volume intake model. Each matter is handled directly by a qualified lawyer. This sometimes means a brief waiting period — and we think the quality of attention that produces is worth that consideration.
Recognition & Milestones
ayothayaxad is a registered legal practice. All practitioners hold current membership of the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Court representation is conducted by admitted advocates only.
